About cordless telephones
Privacy: The same features that make a cordless telephone convenie nt create some limitations. Telephone calls are transmitte d between
the telephone base and the cor dless handset by radio waves, so there is a poss ibility that the cordles s telephone conversations c ould be
intercepted by radio receiving equi pment within range of the cordless handset. For this reason , you should not think of cordless telephone
conversations as bein g as private as those on corde d telephones.
Electrical pow er: The telephone b ase of this cordl ess telephone must be connected to a working electric al outlet. The ele ctrical outlet
should not be controlled by a wall switch. Calls can not be made from the cordless handset if the teleph one base is unplugged or switched
off, or if the electric al power is interrupted.
Potential TV in terference: So me cordless teleph ones operate at frequ encies that may cause interference to tel evisions and VCRs. To
minimize or prevent such interference, do not place the telephone base of the cordless telephone near or on top of a TV or VCR. If interference
is experienced, movin g the cordless telepho ne farther away from the TV or VCR w ill often reduce or elimi nate the interference.
Rechargeable batteries: This product contains either nickel-cad mium or nickel-met al hydride recharge able batteries. Exer cise care in
handling batteries in order not to create a short circuit with conducting material such as rings, bracelets, and keys. The battery or conductor
may overheat and cause harm. O bserve proper polari ty between the batter y and the battery charg er.
Nickel-meta l hydride rechar geable batte ries: Dispose o f these batterie s in a safe mann er. Do not burn or puncture the bat tery. Like
other batteries of this t ype, if burned or punctur ed, they could release cau stic material which cou ld cause injury.
The RBRC® seal on the nickel-metal-hydride battery indicates that VTech Communications, Inc. is voluntarily participating
in an industry prog ram to collect and recy cle these batteries at t he end of their useful live s, when taken out of serv ice
within the United States a nd Canada.
The RBRC® program prov ides a convenient alternati ve to placing used nickel- metal-hydride batter ies into the trash or
