Before You Call For Service
If you are having an operating problem, check the list to see what the cause might be before you call for assistance.
OPERATING PROBLEM
Nothing operates
Oven will not operate
Burner fails to light
Burner flames are uneven
Burner flames lift off ports, are yellow, or are noisy when turned
Off
Burner makes popping noise when on
Control knob(s) will not turn
Cooking results aren’t what you expected
CHECK IF
lRange is properly connected to gas and electrical supplies.
lFuse has blown or circuit breaker has tripped.
. Control knob is set in the correct position.
. The flow of combustion and lor ventilation air to the range is blocked.
lOven Temperature Control is turned to a lemperature setting.
lRange is connected to electrical power.
lFuse has blown or circuit breaker has tripped.
. Burner ports are clogged.
lBurner ports are clogged.
lBurner is wet from washing.
lYou pushed in knob(s) before trying to turn.
lThe range is level.
lFlame size fits the cooking utensil being used.
. Pans are the size called for in the recipe.
lYou are following a tested recipe from
a reliable source.
lThe cooking utensils have smooth, flat bottoms and fit the surface burners.
lWhen baking, you have preheated the oven as the recipe calls for.
lWhen baking, you have allowed 1 l/2 to 2 inches
lWhen broiling, you have completely closed the broiler drawer.
WHAT TO DO
lReconnect range to gas and/or electrical supplies. (See Installation
Instructions.)
lReplace fuse or reset circuit breaker.
In case of prolonged power failure, manually light burners (see page 4).
lSet control knob correctly, if needed.
lRemove blockage to air flow to and around range.
lTurn Oven Temperature Control to the desired temperature setting, if needed.
. Reconnect range to electrical supply. (See Installation Instructions.)
lReplace fuse or reset circuit breaker.
In case of prolonged power failure, manually light burners (see page 4).
. Clean with a straight pin (see pages 7 and 8).
lClean with a straight pin (see pages 7 and 8). If this fails, call a qualified technician for service.
lContact qualified technician to check air/gas mixture.
lLet dry.
lPush in knob(s) before turning.
lIf needed, level range.
lAdjust flame size to fit cooking utensil.
l Use
lModify recipe or find a new recipe.
lUse cooking utensils with smooth, flat
bottoms.
lPreheat the oven according to recipe’s specifications.
lReposition pans for best air circulation.
. Completely close broiler drawer.
