Connecting the Antennas
Both AM and FM indoor antennas are included with this unit. These antennas should provide sufficient signal strength in most situations. However, a properly installed outdoor antenna provides clearer reception. If you experience poor reception quality using the indoor antennas, an outdoor antenna may improve the reception.
Connect each antenna as shown below.

2Insert the AM loop antenna lead wires to the AM ANT and GND terminals.
3Lift the tab to its original position to lock the lead wires.
Lightly pull on the lead wires to confirm a good connection.
4Attach the loop antenna to the antenna stand.
5Orient the AM loop antenna so that the best reception is obtained.
Notes:
•The AM loop antenna should be placed away from this unit. The antenna may be hung on a wall.
•The AM loop antenna should remain connected, even if an outdoor AM antenna is connected to this unit.
•To minimize the influence of automobile ignition noise, locate the antenna as far from heavy traffic as possible.
•Keep the ribbon cable or coaxial cable as short as possible. Do not bundle or roll up excess cable.
•The antenna should be at least 1.8m (6 feet) from reinforced concrete walls and metallic structures.
