Chapter 8 Troubleshooting

The Internet connection is slow or intermittent.

1There might be a lot of traffic on the network. If the NWA1300-NJ is sending or receiving a lot of information, try closing some programs that use the Internet, especially peer-to-peer applications.

2If you are accessing the Internet wirelessly, check the signal strength. If the signal strength is low, try moving your computer closer to the NWA1300-NJ if possible, and look around to see if there are any devices that might be interfering with the wireless network (for example, microwaves, other wireless networks, and so on).

3Disconnect and re-connect the Ethernet cable between the NWA1300-NJ and the PoE switch to turn the NWA1300-NJ off and on.

4If the problem continues, contact the network administrator or vendor.

8.5Wireless LAN Troubleshooting

I cannot access the NWA1300-NJ or ping any computer from the WLAN.

1Make sure the wireless LAN is enabled on the NWA1300-NJ.

2Make sure the wireless adapter on the wireless station is working properly.

3Make sure the wireless adapter installed on your computer is IEEE 802.11 compatible and supports the same wireless standard as the NWA1300-NJ.

4Make sure your computer (with a wireless adapter installed) is within the transmission range of the NWA1300-NJ.

5Check that both the NWA1300-NJ and your wireless client are using the same wireless and wireless security settings.
