Installing an interface card and cable

Warning: Interface cards are easily damaged by static electricity. Touch something metal such as the printer frame before you touch an interface card.

1Locate the card connectors on the system board.

2Remove the screw and the cover plate closest to the system board, and save them.

3Unpack the scanner interface card and cable. Save the packaging materials. a Connect the USB interconnect cable to the system board.

b Connect the USB interconnect cable to the card.

4Align the connection points on the card with the connector on the system board, and push the card firmly up into the system board connector.

Install the card in the open slot closest to the system board.

5Insert the screw saved from the cover plate (or the extra screw shipped with the card).

6Tighten the screw to secure the card.
