Unit 7: Replacement Procedures

DRIVE MOTOR REPLACEMENT

1Switch off the printer and remove power supply or battery.

2Remove the front and left housing covers.

NOTE: Figure 9-1 of the Charts & Diagrams unit provides guidance on housing cover removal.

3Withdraw gears (A) and (B) from the printer chassis (Figure 7-12).

4Remove the two screws securing the motor bracket and motor to the printer chassis.

5Disconnect defective motor and discard. Connect the replacement motor.

6Secure the replacement motor to the printer chassis using motor bracket and two screws.

7Insert gears (B) and (A) into their respective positions identified by the numeral 2.

8Install all removed housing covers.
