Setting up the Remote Supervisor Adapter

This section describes features, setup requirements, and how to cable and configure the Remote Supervisor Adapter for use on an Advanced System Management (ASM) network so that you can manage the server from a remote location.

Note: The information in this section is intended for use with the Remote Supervisor Adapter, not the Remote Supervisor Adapter II-EXA. For information on setting up and configuring a Remote Supervisor Adapter II-EXA, go to “Setting up the Remote Supervisor Adapter II-EXA” on page 40.

For more detailed information, see the Remote Supervisor Adapter User’s Guide on the IBM xSeries Documentation CD.
