This document describes how to install and configure the PA-E3 serial port adapter (PA-E3[=] and PA-2E3[=]) in the following platforms:

•Second-generation Versatile Interface Processor (VIP2) in Cisco 7500 series routers and Cisco 7000 series routers with the Cisco 7000 Series Route Switch Processor (RSP7000) and Cisco 7000 Series Chassis Interface (RSP7000CI).
