10. Administrator Utility

Configuring OSD User Settings

This function allows the user to change the account password and set up a unique working environment. A separate profile for each user is stored by the OSD and is activated according to the username that is provided during login. Open the Settings Web Page by clicking on the Settings link (Figure 23).

Description

 

 

Change Password

Enter the old account password. Enter a new password and then re-enter it to confirm it. Blank passwords are permitted.

 

Don’t enter anything if you wish to leave the password as is.

 

 

OSD Activation

Allows you to choose between 2 different Hotkeys, (SCROLL LOCK, SCROLL LOCK) or (CTRL, CTRL). The default is

 

(SCROLL LOCK, SCROLL LOCK).

Set Logout Timeout

Sets the amount of time without activity before the user is logged out of the OSD. If there is no input from the user for the

 

specified amount of time, the user will be logged out and required to enter their username and password to regain access.

 

Choose a value from 1-180 minutes. A value of zero disables this option. Default is zero (disabled).

 

 

Screen Blanker

If there is no input from the KVM console for the amount of time set here, the screen is blanked. Enter a value from 1-30

 

minutes. A value of zero disables this option. Default is zero (disabled).

 

 

Hotkey Command

Enables/Disables the Hotkey Command. Default is Enabled.

 

 

Set Beeper

Turns the beeper On/Off. The beeper sounds whenever the KVM port is switched and when activating Auto Scan mode.

 

Default is On.

Set Idle Timeout

If there is no input from the KVM console accessing a particular port within the set amount of time, the KVM port is

 

released to be used by other users. Enter a value from 0-240 seconds. A value of zero disables this option. Default is

 

5 seconds.

Restore User Default

Restores the original factory default settings for View Mode (OSD), Set Port ID, Display Duration, Set Scan, OSD

 

Activation, Set Logout Timeout, Screen Blanker, Hotkey Command, Set Beeper and Set Idle Timeout. Note: Password is

 

not affected.
