11. OSD Operation

Setting

Description

SET SCAN

SCAN INTERVAL – Determines how long a KVM port is displayed for while in Auto Scan mode. Enter a value from 0-240

 

seconds and press the Enter key. The default is 5 seconds. A value of zero will automatically enter the B060-032-8 into Skip

 

Mode when Auto Scan is initiated.

SCAN MODE – Selects which computers will be accessed during an Auto Scan.

-PERSONAL – Scans only those KVM ports the user has set as personal.

-ACCESSIBLE – Scans only those KVM ports that the user has been given access to.

-ACCESSIBLE & POWERED – Scans only those KVM ports that the user has been given access to and that are powered on. The default is ACCESSIBLE & POWERED.

F3: SET

This function allows users to change their account passwords and set up and adjust their personal settings. A separate profile for each user is stored by the OSD and is activated according to the username that is provided during log in. The settings are explained in the following table:

CHANGE PASSWORD

Enables the user to change their account password. When changing their password, the user will be required to type in the old

 

password, and then type in the new password twice. To confirm the changes press the Enter key, which will bring you back to

 

the previous screen. Blank passwords are acceptable.

OSD ACTIVATION

The user can select which Hotkey they wish to use, SCROLL LOCK or CTRL. This setting defaults at Scroll Lock.

SET LOGOUT

This setting allows the user to determine how much inactive time must pass before they are logged out of the B060-032-8,

TIMEOUT

requiring them to enter their password to regain access to the KVM switch. The user can enter a time from 1-180 minutes,

 

with zero deactivating this setting. This setting defaults at zero (disabled).

SCREEN BLANKER

This setting allows the user to determine how much inactive time must pass before the users screen goes blank, requiring

 

mouse activity to display the screen again. The user can key in a time from 1-30 minutes, with zero disabling this setting. This

 

setting defaults at zero (disabled).

HOTKEY COMMAND

This setting allows the user to enable/disable the Hotkey command mode. When disabled the user will need to access KVM

MODE

ports or perform functions solely via the OSD. This setting defaults at enabled.

SET BEEPER

This setting allows the user to turn the beeper On/Off. This setting defaults at On.

IDLE TIMEOUT

This setting allows the user to determine the amount of inactive time before the KVM port they are accessing is released for

 

use by other users. The user can set a time from 1-240 seconds, with zero disabling this setting. This setting defaults at 5

 

seconds.

RESTORE USER

This allows the user to restore the original factory default settings for the View and Set menus of their user profile.

DEFAULT

Note: Password is not affected.

 

 

F4: ADM

F4 is accessible only by Super Administrators and Administrators. It allows configuration and control of the overall operation of the OSD. Note: When creating user accounts, each user must be added to a group. It is recommended that groups be created before user accounts. If you do not wish to create groups you may add users to the default group account; however, the default group account cannot be used to grant port access to group members. In this case, you must individually add users to the KVM port(s).
