5.Ensure that the DX8000 Series DVR and all of its components are protected against electrostatic discharge (ESD). Before handling any electronic components, you should take steps to ground yourself properly so that any built-up static electric charges are dissipated away from the unit. The most effective method for combating ESD is to use a properly grounded wrist strap.

NOTE: If you do not have access to a grounded wrist strap, you can discharge any built-up static by periodically touching an unpainted section of the chassis.
