1 Introduction

Congratulations on your purchase of the ZyXEL Prestige 128L IDSL Router. The Prestige integrates a Router and Bridge, offering inexpensive yet complete telecommunications and internetworking solutions for your home or branch office. The Prestige is ideal for everything from Internet access, to receiving calls from Remote Dial-in Users, to making LAN-to-LAN connections to Remote Nodes.

Distinguishing features of the Prestige 128L include support for a full range of networking protocols such as TCP/IP (Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol), Novell IPX (Internet Packet Exchange), and Transparent Bridging. The complete solution also includes extensive Network Management, and solid security features.

The Prestige is packed with a number of features that give it the flexibility to provide a complete networking solution for Internet access and business users.

Ease of Installation

The Prestige is a self-contained unit that is quick and easy to install. Physically, it resembles an external modem except for the fact that it is a router and uses an Ethernet cable to connect to the host network.
