Problem

Placement of the scanned image appears to be wrong.

The image quality is poor.

The ADF feeds multiple sheets, skews papers, or jams frequently.

Action to take

The scanner might need to be recalibrated. See the HP 9200C Digital Sender Support Guide for instructions.

Make sure that the document you are trying to send is placed correctly: face-up in the ADF or face-down on the glass.

Make sure that the glass is clean. If the glass is dirty, clean it with a dry, soft cloth.

If you are scanning from the ADF, try scanning from the glass. If the image that was scanned from the glass is better, clean the ADF. See Cleaning.

If possible, try changing some of the scan settings, such as resolution or file type, to improve the image quality.

Adjust the guides so that they are snug against the stack but do not bend the stack.

The maximum number of pages that the ADF can hold is 50 or fewer, depending on the type of paper that is being loaded.

The maximum number of pages that the output tray can hold is 50 or fewer. Make sure that more pages are not stacking up in the output tray.

Clean the separation pad and the rollers. See Cleaning.

If the mylar sheet has recently been replaced, verify that it was correctly installed. See Replacing the mylar sheet.

The type of paper that is being loaded might not meet the required specifications. See Loading documents in the ADF for paper specifications.

See Avoiding ADF jams for more suggestions.
