Printer Jam | Cleaning The Thermal Heads |
If a print sheet gets stuck inside the printer, follow these steps to remove it:
1 OPEN LID, REMOVE INK SHEET CARTRIDGE
Move the slide knob in the direction of the arrow. The lid springs open, so apply gentle pressure to the top when opening (☞ pg. 10).
2 REMOVE PROBLEM SHEET
If the ink sheet, or a print sheet, is caught in the roller and can’t be removed, close the lid and shut off the printer’s power.
Then turn the power back on.
3 RE-INSTALL INK SHEET CARTRIDGE, CLOSE LID
While holding the “ ” portion of the ink sheet cartridge, position it at the proper angle, insert and push in until you hear it click (☞ pg. 10).
The thermal heads may be in need of cleaning. If the heads become covered with dust or dirt, print quality will drop. Use a cotton swab to clean the heads. If this doesn’t remove the dirt, please consult your nearest JVC dealer or Technical Service Center.
1 OPEN LID See page 10.
2 CLEAN HEADS
Clean thoroughly using a clean cotton swab. Using anything else could result in scratches which could cause a head malfunction.
3 CLOSE LID See page 10.
CAUTIONS:
●The thermal heads on the underside of the door can become hot. Be careful not to touch them when opening or closing the door.
●It’s a good idea to turn off the printer’s power and wait for a short time before opening the door, to give the thermal heads a chance to cool.
