Field

Description

Key Input Method

Available if PSK and/or WEP is selected. The

 

options are:

 

 

! Pass Phrase – default setting

Hexadecimal

ASCII

 

If you select either Pass Phrase or

 

Hexadecimal, in Key Content, the format of the

 

Key appears in a hexadecimal format.

 

If you are using other non-Motorola wireless

 

products and a security algorithm other than

 

WPA-PSK, you must enter your WEP keys

 

manually in either ASCII or hexadecimal format

 

for the non-Motorola wireless products.

Pass Phrase

Enter the Pass Phrase to be used for Key

 

encryption. Keep a record of this Pass Phrase

 

so you can enter the same phrase for the

 

Motorola client devices on your wireless LAN.

 

You will use this Pass Phrase when using WPA

 

security with your client devices. Pass Phrase

 

must be between 8 and 63 characters.

 

The default pass phrase is motorola.

Key Length

The option selected determines the strength of

 

the key. This field is only available when ESS

 

Authentication is set PSK and the Encryption

 

Status is set to None.

 

There are two options:

64-bit.
