Encryption

Determines the type of security encryption

Status

algorithms for the Key Index. The security

 

setting encrypts your wireless transmission.

 

The options are:

 

None

 

No security. Default setting.

 

WEP64

Wired Equivalent Privacy - 64-bit

 

 

 

strength (provides 4 Keys)

 

WEP128 Wired Equivalent Privacy -

 

 

 

128-bit strength (provides 2

 

 

 

Keys)

 

Motorola recommends using WEP128 because

 

it provides a stronger security algorithm.

Passphrase

Enter the Passphrase used for Key encryption.

 

This is the Passphrase used by the wireless

 

network, so you must enter the same phrase.

 

This feature is unavailable when an Open

 

System is selected with no Encryption or

 

Passphrase is not selected in Key Input

 

Method.

 

 

The default is pass phrase is motorola.

Available if Pre-Shared Key (PSK) is selected.

The options are:

If you select either Passphrase or

Hexadecimal, the format of the Key appears in a hexadecimal format.

If you are using other non-Motorola wireless products with Shared Key (PSK) enabled, you may need to enter your WEP keys manually (in Hexadecimal format) for the non-Motorola wireless products.
