To connect the console port when the hub is disconnected

Disconnected

from power:

1Connect a null modem cable between the PC serial port and the console port on the Hub 1000 SX rear panel.

2Turn on the PC.

3Start the terminal-emulation program.

4Configure the program with the same settings as the Hub 1000 SX console interface port:

9600 baud

8 data bits

1 stop bit

No parity

5Reconnect the hub to the power supply.

The PC screen displays POST messages, followed by the CLI header and the password prompt.

POST Messages When you connect the hub to power or when you press the Reset button on the hub’s rear panel, the PC screen displays messages while POST is proceeding. When POST is finished, the CLI header appears, followed by the password prompt. For example:
