12.2Dual port support

Constellation.2 SAS drives have two independent ports. These ports may be connected in the same or differ- ent SCSI domains. Each drive port has a unique SAS address.

The two ports have the capability of independent port clocking (e.g. both ports can run at 6Gb/s or the first port can run at 6Gb/s while the second port runs at 3Gb/s. The supported link rates are 1.5, 3.0, or 6.0Gb/s.

Subject to buffer availability, the Constellation.2 drives support:

•Concurrent port transfers—The drive supports receiving COMMAND, TASK management transfers on both ports at the same time.

•Full duplex—The drive supports sending XFER_RDY, DATA and RESPONSE transfers while receiving frames on both ports.
