The options jumper block allows you to configure your drive for several additional configuration options. The drawing in Figure 7 shows how to place jumpers to enable each optional feature. A brief description of each option is included.

Parity Enable. Parity is enabled when a jumper is installed on pins 7 and 8 (default). To disable parity, remove this jumper.

Motor Start Enable. The Motor Start option causes the drive to wait for a Start/Stop Unit command from the host before starting or stopping the spindle motor. Motor start is enabled when a jumper is installed on pins 11 and 12.
