This figure shows a SCSI chain with two internal SCSI devices and two external SCSI devices. The SCSI devices at the ends of each cable are terminated.

Note. Some SCSI host adapters should remain terminated even if they are in the middle of the chain. Also, some adapters treat the internal and external chains as sepa- rate logical buses. This means you may need to termi- nate both the first and last devices on both logical buses to achieve proper termination. Refer to your computer or host adapter documentation to see how this is handled in your system.
