Chains of SCSI devices must be terminated at each end of the cable.

The figure above shows two internal hard drives with the termi- nation enabled for the SCSI host adapter and the last device on the cable.

If your new drive is the last device on the SCSI cable, you must enable termination. Active termination is enabled when there are no jumpers on pins 11 and 12 of the options jumper block. This is the default setting.

If your drive is not the last device on the SCSI cable, SCSI termi- nation must be disabled by placing a jumper on pins 11 and 12.
