3.6 Replacing power supplies

3.6Replacing power supplies

The B4881V50S4H has four hot-swap, redundant power sup- ply bays.

To replace a power supply:

1.Unplug the power cable from the faulty power supply.

2.Loosen the retaining screw.

3.While pressing the release catch, pull the faulty power supply from the chassis using the handle.

4.Push the new power supply into place and secure with the retaining screw.

Note: When the CPU expansion board is installed, A bare minimum of three power supplies are required to run the B4881V50S4H. A fourth power supply should be installed as soon as possible in the event of a failure.

3.7Replacing cooling fans

The B4881V50S4H requires three chassis cooling fans. To replace a cooling fan:

1.Remove the chassis cover. See Removing the chassis cover on page 13.

2.Remove the CPU expansion board as described in “Replacing the CPU expansion board” on page 37
