| mode tunnel connection is active with the Telnet Protocol RFC2217 saying |
|
| that the remote DSR is asserted. |

| Asserted while connected = the DTR is asserted whenever either a |

| connect or an accept mode tunnel connection is active. |

Using Web Manager
To configure the Serial Settings for a specific tunnel, click Tunnel in the menu and select Tunnel 1

To enter Tunnel 1 command level: enable

Include in your file: <configgroup name=”tunnel serial” instance=”1”>
Packing Mode
With Packing, data from the serial Line is not sent over the network immediately. Instead, data is queued and sent in segments, when either the timeout or byte threshold is reached. Packing applies to both Accept and Connect Modes.

Mode |

| Disable = Data not packed. |
|
| Timeout = data sent after timeout occurs. |

| Send Character = data sent when the Send Character is read on the Serial |

Threshold |
| Set the threshold (byte count). If the received serial data reaches this |
|
| threshold, then the data will be sent on the network. Valid range is 100 to |
|
| 1450 bytes. Default is 512. |
