GENERAL SPECIFICATIONS

Transmission system uses DSP techniques involving echo cancellation and adaptive decision feedback equalisation. The system is intended for use on 2-wire unconditioned copper wire (BT EPS-9 type circuits).

Power output selectable 0dBm or 10dBm.

Line code is AMI with embedded synch pattern for timing control. Line rates 71.1kbit/s (high) or 142.2kbit/s (double).

Line attenuation range up to 50dB at 10dBm output level and high line rate. This is equivalent to a noise free range of 5km on 0.4mm diameter copper wire.

Line attenuation range up to 40dB at 10dBm output level and double line rate. This is equivalent to a noise free range of 4km on 0.4mm diameter copper wire.

High line rate user data rates: 2400, 4800, 9600, 16000, 19200, 32000, 48000, 56000, 64000 bit/s.

Double line rate user data rates: 128000 bit/s.

Synchronous working at all user rates, asynchronous working at 2400,4800,9600 and 19200 bit/s.

Byte timing is available at 64kbit/s with the X.21 interface.

X50 divisions 2 and 3 are supported at 48kbit/s.

User interfaces:

X.21 V.11

X.21 bis V.24 / V.28

X.21 bis V.35
