5.6Option Menu
This menu displays the type of DTE interface currently fitted in the BBM. The AM64/128A automatically “reads” which interface type is fitted on power up, and programs certain options accordingly. The first two display options are read only. These display the following information:
(1) | Overall protocol type | X.21, X.21bis or G.703 |
(2) | Interface type | V.11, V.28, V.35, V.36, |
In X.21bis mode there are further levels in the options menu allowing the following parameters to be set.
(1) | Control line options | 105 set on, 108/1 set on, 106 delay, 107=108/1. |
(2) | Signalling rate | Normal or Extended Rate |
(3) | Character Length | 8,9,10 or 11 characters |
This can be explained more clearly by considering the operation of the menu.
The top level display will show whether the interface type fitted, conforms to either X.21 or X.21bis.
The X.21 mode is shown as:
The X.21bis mode is shown as:
O > X21
O > X21 bis
5.6.1 X.21
If an X.21 interface is fitted then the next line will always be
O > V11 Interface
All the V.11 interface lines are found on the 15 way
5.6.2 X.21bis
If an interface conforming to X.21bis is fitted then the next line will be either:
O > V28 Interface
or
O > V35 Interface
or
O > V36 Interface
or
O > RS530 Interface
There are four control line options which can be applied to the X.21bis V.28 interface.
