5.5.Negativepressuresetting
Inksupplybymeansofnegativepressure:
Bymeansofnegativepressure,theinkiskeptinth eprintheads. Atoohighsettingwillcausemissingnozzles,ornoin kfiringatall. Whenthepressureistoolow,theinkwillleakoutof theheads.
TheNeg.Pressureshouldbesetto.0.36 Duringtheday,thenegativepressureindicationcan raise alittlebitwhentheenginebecomeshot.Thisisan ormal behaviourandasuseryoudon’thavetocorrecttheval ue atthatmoment;
Whenyouhavetoraisetheunderpressuretoahigher thennormalvaluetoavoid inkdrippingoutoftheheads(pooling),thenthiscan beanindicationthatsomeair gotintotheinksupplylines;Inthiscasereferto themaintenancesectiontodoa largepurgeandgetridofairinthenozzlesbyleak ingtheheadswithlowunder pressure.Ifthisisnotsufficient,aircanbepre sentintheinkfilterbecauseink levelswentlowinthemaintank;Inthatcase,you havetobleedtheairoutofthe inkfilters,alsoexplainedinthemaintenancesecti on.
WhenusingWhiteink:
ItispossiblethattheNeg.Pressureneedstobetun edtowards“.038”,to getastablenozzlebehaviorfortheWhiteheads. Withthewhiteink,ahighertemperaturewillresul tinalowerviscosity (moreliquidstate),whichcanleadtoink“Pooling”un derneaththeprint head.
“Pooling”:inkbuildupunderneaththeprinthead, causingnozzlefailure. Astheheadneedstofiredrops,thefireddropsaren otgettingthroughthepoolof inkunderneaththehead.AnincreaseofNeg.Pressur e,(.038)willbringtheink moreupwardsintothemeniscusoftheprinthead,thus preventingthepooling.
Howtomakechanges:
Unlocktheblackknobbypushing the“A”switchtotheleft. Youcannowturntheblackknobto makechangesinthepressure. Pushthe“A”switchbacktosecuretheknob.
