11.2.3.CarriageSpeed:

Theenginehasgot3predefinedCarriagespeeds:75 0,11135and1625. Intermediatespeedsarenotpossible;Thesespeedswe reselectedonthephysical characteristicsoftheinkjetheads . Weconsider11135asthedefaultspeedfor colorprintingand750asthedefaultspeedforwhite750asthedefaultspeedforwhiteinkprintinginkprinting(rem ember:the whiteinkisjettedwithanotherkindofheadwithoth ercharacteristics).

Thehigherspeed1625isonlytheretomakecolorprin ts(withoutwhite)in circumstanceswherequalityisoflessimportancethe nspeed;Printingwhitein thismodeistotallyimpossible.

Thisspeedcanbeawayoutifyouhaveaheatsensit ivemediaandhavetolimit thetimethatthemediawillgetthewarmthoftheU Vlampsoverit.

Printingwhiteatthehigherspeedof1135insteadof 725willresultinatoohigh sprayofwhiteinkandnozzledropout.

AUnidirectionalprintisfasterthantwicetheti meofthesameimageprinted bidirectional.Thisbecausethereturnspeed(movemen tfrompurgetohome) occursnotontotheselectedspeed(725or1135or1625) butonahigherfixed speedof1700.

Asaresult,youdon’tloosehalfyourBidirspeedwhen printingUnidirectional.

Whenyou’veselectedanotherspeed,youhavetodoa‘Sa Save’tostorethenew parameterintothelist,BUTYOUALSOhaveopenthe‘ Test’menuandexecutea ‘Parameterdownload’.Withoutdoingthat,thenewselec tedspeedwillnotbe takeninaccountinthenextprints.

11.2.4.FeedSpeed:

Thisisthespeedoftheforwardmovingoftheconveyorb eltinbetweentheprint passes.

AFeedSpeedof“250”isconsideredasthedefaultto giveyouthemostaccurate feeding.Highervaluesupto500arepossibleandwil lonlyinbidirectionalprint moderesultinasmallincreaseinproductivity(noef fectonunidirectionalmode), butwithahigherpossibilitytohaveinaccurateste ps(banding)duetoslipofthe media.

Thisparameterisfixedbythetechnicianandnotac cessibletotheuser.
