Configuring the Cisco DSSS WLAN Radio

The Aironet Client Utility (ACU) enables you to change the configuration parameters of the Cisco DSSS WLAN radio. Exit the HHP demo screen. Go to Start>Programs>Cisco>Client Utility. Double-tap the Client Utility (ACU) icon and the screen shown below displays.

Aironet Client Utility Screen

The five tabs along the top of the screen enable you to activate the following ACU features:

Profile tab -- Enables you to use the profile manager feature to create and manage profiles for your client adapter.

Firmware tab -- Enables you to load new firmware for your client adapter.

Status tab -- Enables you to view the current status of your client adapter.

Statistics tab -- Enables you to view transmit, receive, and MIC statistics for your client adapter.

Survey tab -- Enables people who are responsible for conducting a site survey to determine the best placement of infrastructure devices within a wireless network.

The status bar at the bottom of the Profiles screen reflects the current state of your client adapter. The following states are possible:

Associated

Authenticated

Ad Hoc Mode

Cisco Wireless LAN Adapter Not Found
