A wizard will open to guide you through the Logical Unit creation process. After reading the overview, click the “Next” button to set the Logical Unit Parameters. The parameters window is shown in Figure 18.

The parameters available for the Logical Unit are:

Name – This is a user defined name for the LUN to make it easily identifiable.

Number – This is the Logical Unit Number (LUN) that is presented to the host.

Size – This is the size of the Logical Unit in Megabytes.

Backup mode – This affects the cache operation for the Logical unit. There are two modes available:

oWriteback – Cache incoming writes in the battery protected cache and synchronize the writes to Flash as a background process.
