3.7 PnP/PCI Configuration Setup

This section describes configuring the PCI bus system. PCI (Personal Computer Interconnect) is a system which allows I/O devices to operate at speeds nearing the speed that CPU itself uses when communicating with its own special components. This section covers some very technical items and it is strongly recommended that only experienced users can make some changes.

PNP OS Installed

This field allows you to use a Plug-and-Play (PnP) operating system to configure the PCI bus slots instead of using the BIOS. Thus interrupts may be reassigned by the OS when “Yes” is selected. When a non-PnP OS is installed in order to prevent reassigning of interrupt set- tings, select the default setting of “No”.
