This chapter describes how you can manage the Internet settings of the modem router manually.

Usually, the quickest way to set up the modem router is to allow the NETGEAR genie automatic setup utility to detect the Internet connection when you first access the modem router with an Internet browser. For a cable of fiber service, you can use the Setup Wizard to detect the Internet connection. These options are described in Chapter 2, Install and Access the Modem Router and Its Network. You can also customize or specify your Internet settings manually.
