Installing the HSSI Module

3.Insert the HSSI module into an uncovered I/O slot. Make sure the flipper ejector(s) are in an open position.

With the connector end toward the backplane and the board facing up (check that the labels on the connector/LED panel are right side up), grasp the left and right sides of the panel and fit the board into the I/O slot opening along the guide rails.

4.Lock the board in the slot.

For the dual-wide NETBuilder II chassis, use your thumbs to push the board all the way into the slot. As you slide the board into the slot, the flipper ejector engages itself. For single-wide NETBuilder II chassis, push the flipper ejector closed.

5.Check that the connector/LED panel of the newly inserted module is flush with the NETBuilder II chassis.

To verify that the board is seated correctly, check that it is aligned with the connector/LED panel of an installed module.

6.Hand tighten the captive screws. Do not use a screwdriver.

A solid connection of the connector/LED panel to the chassis is required for proper operation. Do not use the screws to force the board into place.
