Because the reading may be in error, you will be asked to verify the reading. If the manual re-key setting is turned on, you will be asked to enter the reading again. If the manual re-key setting is turned off, you will be asked if the reading is correct.

Touch read meters and radio read meters will also show an alert message but will not require you to verify the reading.

If the Negative Consumption check is turned on, and the manual reading for a meter is the lower than the previous reading, you’ll see a screen like this.
