disabled. IP addresses for disabled clients are ignored during actual operation.

Contact your network administrator for the required entries in the TCP/IP Configuration table. If needed, refer to the Microsoft Windows NT System Guide for additional information for selecting and entering the TCP/IP configuration values.

To edit the TCP/IP Configuration screen, follow the steps below:

aSelect the client to configure in the Adapter list box at the top of the screen.

You can configure the clients in any order you wish; however, the recommended procedure is to work Client 0 first.

bEnter the IP Address.

This is the Internet address for your host machine. It is a unique 32-bit address that identifies the network and your specific machine on that network. The format is dotted decimal notation in the form xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx, where xxx is in the range from 0 to 255.

cEnter the Subnet Mask.

The mask is used to partition the IP address into two parts: a network side and a host side. The left side of the address, or most significant address bits, is shared among all hosts attached to the same physical network segment. The least significant bits are unique for each host belonging to that segment.

The appropriate subnet mask depends upon the IP address assigned to your facility and the number of different networks desired. For example, if a Class B address of 123.1.0.0 is assigned to your company, and no more than 255 hosts will be assigned to any physical
