DLT Drives

Your ADIC FastStor is equipped with a third-, or fourth-generation DLT drive. The DLT4000 and DLT7000 drives can read and write 2.6 GB, 6.0 GB, and 10.0 GB tape formats for 100% interchange compatibility with earlier DLT drives. The DLT 8000 drive can read and write 10.0, 15.0, 20.0, and 35.0 GB tape formats for 100% interchange compatibility with the DLT 2000, DLT 2000xt, DLT 4000, and DLT 7000 drives. DLT 8000 default tape density is 40 GB (80 GB compressed) when using the DLTtape IV data cartridge. Tape density is selectable by the application software or via the Operator Panel..

SCSI Interface

The FastStor is equipped with a Quantum manufactured drive and a corresponding robotics interface. The drive and robotics may have Single-Ended (SE), Low Voltage Differential/Single-Ended (LVD/SE), or High Voltage Differential (HVD) SCSI interface.

Caution

SE and LVD/SE SCSI devices are not compatible with HVD SCSI devices. Equipment damage may occur if you connect your FastStor to an incompatible SCSI bus.
