Distinctive ring pattern detection (DRPD)

You can receive a call using distinctive ring pattern detection (DRPD) feature. “Distinctive ring” is a telephone company service which enables a user to use a single telephone line to answer several different telephone numbers. For details on this feature, see page 5.6.

Receiving automatically in FAX mode

1.Press Rcv.Mode/Contrast until the display shows ‘FAX MODE’.

2.When you get a call, the machine answers the call on a specified number of rings and receives a fax automatically. You can change the number of rings. See ‘RINGS TO ANSWER’ on page 5.4.

To adjust the ringer volume, see ‘Adjusting volume’ on page 2.8.

Receiving Manually in TEL Mode

1.Press Rcv.Mode until the display shows ‘TEL.’

2.When the ringer sounds, Press On Hook Dial.

3.If you hear a fax tone, press Start on the machine.

4.The machine begins receiving a fax, and returns to standby modo When the reception is complete.
