Troubleshooting

If you think a malfunction has occurred, there may be no need to contact the dealer or the repair service counter. Please check the following points. You can easily solve many problems without needing to ask for professional help. If the problem cannot be solved even after performing these checks, contact your dealer.

Recorder power will not turn on.

Insert new batteries.

If you are using rechargeable batteries, recharge the batteries.

Check the connection of the AC adaptor.

The recorder power turns itself off after it is turned on.

• Insert new batteries.

There is no sound from the internal speakers.

Check the LEVEL volume setting on the front side of the recorder.

Check the ON/OFF position of the speaker switch on the front side of the recorder.

Cannot record

Check that the input source settings are correct.

Check to see if the maximum number of tracks, 999 tracks, have been recorded.

Check that there is enough recording time remaining on the HD.

There is no signal from the microphone input.

Check the input source settings. (P.XX)

Check the recording level settings. (P.XX)

Check if the microphone requires Phantom power. (P.XX)

Cannot change recording format.

There is only one HD recording format.

If tracks already recorded in a certain format already exist, the format cannot be changed.

CD, or format the HD.

Too much noise

Check the cable connection between each device. Replace the cable if required.

Check that the recording level is suitable.

Care and maintenance

Dip a soft cloth into water mixed with a small amount of neutral detergent, wring out the cloth, and gently wipe the recorder.
