Flexible Recording Playing while you are recording

The unit sets the best possible picture quality that fi ts the programme within the remaining disc space.

The recording mode becomes FR mode. Refer to “FR (Flexible Recording)” (¼ 20).

Preparation:

Select the channel or the external input to record.

Press [DRIVE SELECT] to select the DVD drive.

With the unit stopped

Notes

You cannot record more than 8 hours.

Tips

To exit the screen

Press [EXIT].

To stop recording partway

Press [ STOP].

To show the remaining recording time

Press [STATUS ] to show the remaining recording time.

You can play DVD or VHS while recording to the other drive. The recording will not be affected

Notes

You cannot watch images on a tape from the DVD priority out terminals or HDMI AV OUT terminal while recording on a disc (¼ 66).

Chasing Playback

Allows playback from the beginning of the title you are recording.

During recording

Tips

To stop play

Press [ STOP] once.

To stop recording

Press [ STOP] at least 2 seconds after chasing playback stops.

Simultaneous Record and Playback

Allows playback of a previous title, while recording something else.

During recording

To exit the DIRECT NAVIGATOR screen

Press [DIRECT NAVIGATOR].

To stop recording

After play stops

1.Press [DIRECT NAVIGATOR] to exit the screen.

2.Press [ STOP].

Notes

During playing while you are recording, you cannot edit or delete titles.
