1 Plug the remote control into the REMOTE socket on the unit.

2 Hold down the REC button for 2 seconds or more.

You can perform the same operation by simply press- ing the REC button on the main unit.

3 To perform group record-

ing, hold down the GROUP button for 1 sec- ond or more so that "GROUP" is lit.

zThe unit is ready to record a new group. (To select a group, refer to page 21.)

zWhen group recording is not performed, hold down the GROUP button for 1 second or more so that "GROUP" goes out.

zSetting for the group recording will not be changed until a new setting is entered.

4 Begin playback on the stereo system con- nected to this portable MD.

5 Move the M button toward or to adjust the recording level (page 20).

You can perform the same operation by holding down the or button on the main unit.

6 Press the PAUSE button on the stereo sys- tem to enter the playback pause mode.

Here you can search for the track to record.

7 Press the MODE button repeatedly to select the recording mode (page 30).
