SET THE MASTER / SLAVE JUMPER

Each hard drive must be configured as either a master or slave device to operate correctly. A jumper is used to configure a pair of connected hard drives to operate in a master/slave relationship. A jumper is a small plastic part that slides over a pair of drive configuration pins. Figure 14 illustrates the rear panel of a 250 GB hard disk drive and the jumper location.
