Setup Menu

DVD MENU Screen

The following table identifies and describes the parameters that may be set using the DVD MENU screen.

Top half	:	Appearance on monitor screen
Bottom half	:	Appearance on LCD display
[ ]	:	Default setting
Parameter			Possible settings			Description
EDIT MENU			ENABLE	This parameter is used to indicate whether or not a screen for editing the title and
			[DISABLE]	chapter menus is to be displayed when title closing or finalizing is performed.
				ENABLE : The menu editing screen is to be displayed.
					Upon title closing, the THUMBNAIL EDIT screen will be displayed for
EdIT			oN		the corresponding chapter menu. (☞ Page 44)
			[oFF]		Upon finalizing, the TITLE MENU EDIT screen will be displayed for the
					title menu. (☞ Page 50)
				DISABLE : The menu editing screen is not to be displayed.
STYLE			[TYPE1]	This parameter is used to select one of the eight different display styles that have
			TYPE2	been provided for title and chapter menus. (☞ Page 35)
			TYPE3	BACK : returns to the DVD MENU screen.

TITLE PATTERN			[1] to 6	This parameter is used to open the TITLE PATTERN screen.
			BACK	That screen can then be used to select a display pattern for the title menu.
				BACK : Returns to the DVD MENU screen.
TITL P			[1] to 6	* 6 cannot be selected when setting for factory shipment.
			bACK
CHAPTER			[1] to 6	This parameter is used to open the CHAPTER PATTERN screen.
PATTERN			BACK	That screen can then be used to select a display pattern for the chapter menus.
				BACK : Returns to the DVD MENU screen.
CHAP P			[1] to 6	* 6 cannot be selected when setting for factory shipment.
			bACK
THUMBNAIL			[NORMAL]	Thumbnail creation method for chapter and title menus during wide-signal recording
FORM			V-CUT	is selected.
			H-CUT	NORMAL : The input signal is to be converted into thumbnails without modification.
			V+H CUT		If the input video has an aspect ratio of 4:3, the corresponding thumbnails
					are also to have this aspect ratio.
				V-CUT : In this case, the top and bottom of the video content is to be removed to
THUMb			[NoR]	H-CUT	form thumbnails.
			VCUT		: In this case, the left and right of the video content is to be removed to
			HCUT		form thumbnails. (SQUEEZE)
			V+H	V+H CUT : In this case, the top, bottom, left, and right of the video content is to be
					removed to form thumbnails. (LETTER BOX)

Parameter	Possible settings		Description
DVD MENU	TOP+MENU	Select whether to create a TOP MENU or MENU in a completed disc (finalized disc).
TYPE	[TOP]	This is set before inserting a disc or when a blank disc is inserted.
	NONE	TOP+MENU : When finalizing a TOP MENU is created.
		TOP	When closing a title a MENU is created.
MENU T	T+M		: When finalizing a TOP MENU is created.
	[ToP]	NONE	When closing a title a MENU is not created.
	NoNE		: Neither a TOP MENU nor a MENU is created. The disc will be without a menu.
DISC IN ACTION	MENU	Select the action when a completed disc (finalized disc) is inserted into this machine
	[TITLE]	or a DVD player.
		This is set before inserting a disc or when a blank disc is inserted.
dISC IN	MENU	MENU : Displays the TOP MENU (title menu)
	[TITL]	TITLE : Starts to playback TITLE1
TITLE END	MENU	Select the action to be taken when playback within a title of a completed disc (finalized
	REPEAT	disc) is finished. This is set before inserting a disc or when a blank disc is inserted.
	STOP	MENU	: Display the TOP MENU (title menu)
	[NEXT TITLE]	REPEAT	: Repeat playback within a title.
		STOP	: Enter stop mode. The TOP MENU is not displayed.
TI ENd	MENU	NEXT TITLE : Start to playback the next title. In the case of playback of the final
	REPT		title, start to playback the first title.

	[NEXT]
MENU		This button is used to return to the Setup Menu screen.

Settings on this page will change accordingly with the disc information when a recorded disc is loaded.
