1POWER switch
Turns on and off the power to the
If you turn off the POWER switch without perform- ing the shut down operation, the
If you turn on the POWER switch before the unit turns itself off, it will still execute the shut down process. In this case, turn off the power to the unit after it completes the shut down operation.
6ODD key
Sets Drive mode to ODD. (See “Drive mode” on page 18.)
7HDD key
Sets Drive mode to HDD (See “Drive mode” on page 18.)
8PHONES control
Adjusts the level of a connected set of stereo head- phones.
9PHONES jack
Connect a standard set of stereo headphones here.
2OPEN/CLOSE key
Opens and closes the disc tray. To shut down the unit safely, press and hold down this key for at least one second.
3JOG/DATA dial
Changes parameter values and moves the cursor in the menu lists on the screen. In jog playback mode, use this dial to jog the playback position backward and forward. To change the LCD contrast, rotate the JOG/DATA dial while pressing and holding down the DISPLAY key.
4MONITOR key
Switches between recording source monitoring and playback monitoring. (See “Monitoring” on page 37.)
5EFFECT key
Turns the effects on and off. To display the effects screen, press and hold down the key for one second or longer. (See “Effects” on page 55.)
0TIMER switch
Turns timer start
q () key
Press the key briefly to select (skip) tracks back- ward. To perform a backward cue search during playback or pause, press and hold down this key.
w () key
Press this key briefly to select (skip) tracks forward. To perform a forward cue search during playback or pause, press and hold down this key.
eSTOP key
Stops the transport mechanism.
rPLAY key
Starts playback from the stopped position, resumes playback from the paused position, or starts record- ing from record ready mode.
