ON/STANDBY

Using the front panel buttons, hold down the Stop [ ] button and

press [ON/STANDBY] button.

“INITIALIZE” appears on the display. When the reset is complete, “COM- PLETE” is displayed, and the DV-SP506 enters Standby mode.

Some DVD-Audio discs may ask you to enter a pass- word. Consult the disc’s producer for details.

SACD

SACDs have two separate areas for storing audio tracks—one for multichannel audio, the other for 2- channel stereo audio. In addition, hybrid SACDs have an extra layer for playback in standard CD players. You can specify how the DV-SP506 handles SACDs on page 53.

STANDBY

DVD-Video regions

All DVD-Video discs carry a region mark on the case somewhere that indicates which region(s) of the world the disc is compatible with. Your DV-SP506 also has a region mark, which you can find on its rear panel. Discs from incompatible regions will not play in the DV-SP506. Discs marked “ALL” will play in any player. The diagram below shows the various DVD regions of the world.
