Getting to Know the DPC-8.5—Continued

TDisplay button (48)

This button is used to display information about the current disc, title, chapter, group, or track, including the elapsed time, remaining time, total time, and so on.

UClear button (33, 36, 46)

This button is used to cancel functions and to clear entered numbers.

VMenu button (32)

This button is used to show DVD menus.

WEnter button (27)

This button is used to start playback of the selected title chapter, group, or track and to confirm settings.

XArrow [], [ ], [], [ ] buttons (27)

These buttons are used to navigate onscreen menus.

YSetup button (54)

This button is used to open and close the onscreen setup menus.

ZSubtitle button (47)

This button is used to select subtitles.

aPlay [ ] button (31)

This button is used to start playback.

bPause [] button (31)

This button is used to pause playback.

cStop [] button (31)

This button is used to stop playback.

d Up [ ] button (33, 36)

This button is used to select the next chapter or track.

eDown [ ] button (33, 36)

This button is used to select the previous chapter or track. During playback it selects the beginning of the current chapter or track.

fStep/Slow [+] & [–] buttons (37, 38)

These buttons are used for frame-by-frame play- back and slow-motion playback.

gDimmer button (38)

This button is used to adjust the display brightness.

hProgressive button (47)

This button is used to turn on and off progressive scanning. Progressive scanning can’t be turned on or off during playback.
