Index Search

Index Search will fast-forward or rewind a specified number of Index Marks from 1 to 99. When it reaches the desired Index Mark, it will play the tape. Use Index Search when you know the exact Index Mark you want to locate.

1Open “SEARCH MENU”

From Stop or Play mode, press the SEARCH button.

2Select “Index Search/Scan”

Using the up/down, move the selection arrow to “Index Search/Scan,” then push right to select.

3Enter # of Marks to Search

Enter a number from 1 to 99; e.g. for “5” press “0-5”.

4Search for Index Marks

Press Fast-Forward or Rewind to begin searching forward or backward for the specified Index Mark. When the VCR locates the Index Mark, it will play the tape.

Blank Search

With Blank Search you can easily locate the next available blank (unused) segment on your videotape.

1Open “SEARCH MENU”

From Stop or Play mode, press the SEARCH button.

2Select “Blank Search”

Using the up/down, move the selection arrow to “Blank Search,” then push right to select.

The DVD-VCR will automatically search for the next available blank space on your tape and stop.

If no blank space is found, the tape will be ejected.

Direct Time Search

Use Direct Time Search to locate a specific tape location in hours, minutes, and seconds. This is useful for editing purposes, i.e. you can advance the tape directly to the beginning of the desired scene.

1Open “SEARCH MENU”

From Stop or Play mode, press the SEARCH button.

2Select “Direct Time Search”

Using the up/down, move the selection arrow to “Direct Time Search,” then push right to select.

3Select +/– Counter Value

Press 1 for positive or 2 for negative counter values.

4Enter the Time

Use the number buttons (0–9) to enter the desired time in hours, minutes, and seconds. Press Clear if you need to backup and re- enter a number.

5Start the Search

Press the SEARCH button to advance the tape to the specified time.
