•Complete the steps on page 27 before proceeding. This will enable you to use the VCR remote control to operate the Cable Box, and you will learn your Cable Box code.

Helpful Hints

•If the EXIT/STATUS button is pressed during steps 6 - 9, “CABLE BOX CONTROL IS OFF” will appear on-screen for five seconds. You will return to TV programming.

•If the remote control does not oper- ate the Cable Box, the Controller will not change channels at the Cable Box during a timer recording. In this case, you must select the channel to be recorded at the Cable Box before a timer recording begins. Leave the Cable Box on for the

timer recording.
