AE Dial

The AE dial lets you select one select the effect you want. The finder. Set the AE dial to MAN

of several different effects. Turn the dial to indicator for the effect will appear in the view- for normal recording.

Mode	Indicator		Uses
			Places camcorder in full auto mode. Fade, display, title,
A UTO	AUTO LOCK		16 X 9, manual focus,			manual exposure,	and manual white
			balance	will	not operate.
MAN	A UTO RELEASE		Use this mode for recording using some				of the manual
			features.
			Use to capture fast-moving action with less blurring. Use
	o'_	SPORTS	when playing		back a recording on a VCR			featuring	special
			effects, such as pause or slow motion.
			Use when subjects are in front of a window or have the sun
D	I_	BACKLIT	totheirback.		Compensatesforsubjectsappearingtoodark
			because	of backlighting.
			Use when there is a strong front light on the subject such as
['_	Ill	FRONT LIT	spotlights. Compensates			for subjects appearing too			Right
			because of strong front lighting.
			Sets shutter speed to 111000. Use to record faster moving
1/1000	_	1 S 1/1000	action than sports mode with less blurring.					Use when
			playing back a recording on a VCR featuring special effects,
			such as pause or slow motion.
			Use to soften the image and give the picture a misty white
HAZE	HZ: HAZE		effect.
SHDW	SD:SHADOW		Use to counter effects of glare and darken					the picture with a
			black mist.
			Picture	is recorded in sepia (brownish red) and offers the
1_	[_	SEPIA	vintage	look	of old movies. Use it with the 16 X 9 mode to
			create an authentic movie theater look.
