Taking Pictures with 2nd Curtain Synchro

When recording with normal flash and setting to 1st curtain, as the flash fires the shutter curtain is simultaneously opened. When recording a moving subject and setting to 2nd curtain, the flash fires just before the shutter curtain is closed. The light source is captured following the moving subject fired by the flash.

[Preparations]

Set the operational mode dial and REC mode dial. (P25)

Press the flash mode button to select slow sync./red-eye reduction.

1 Press the [MENU] button.

2 Press 3/4 to select [SLOW SYNC.].

3 Press 2/1 to set to [1ST] or [2ND].

4 Press the [MENU] button.

The menu will disappear.

5 Take a picture.

The recording method is the same as in “Taking Pictures (AUTO Mode)”. (P28)

In AUTO [ ], shutter-priority AE [ ], manual exposure [ ] and motion image

[ ] mode, it is not possible to set this mode.

When recording in slow synchro mode, the use of a tripod is recommended.

Recording in slow synchro mode is available only when the flash mode is set to slow sync./red-eye reduction.
