LCD monitor

The LCD monitor turns off although the camera is turned on.

When the camera is not operated for a while, [POWER SAVE] or [AUTO LCD OFF] is activated for [ECONOMY]. (P22)

If the LCD monitor turns off when you press the shutter button halfway, the batteries may run out.

The LCD monitor darkens during use.

This camera automatically charges for flash recording and may darken the LCD monitor for efficient charge. The monitor may darken in the following cases;

-After flash recording

-Just after turning the camera ON

-Just after setting to Recording Mode

-When adjusting the zoom or pointing the camera toward dark side

The LCD monitor lights up again to return to recording-ready condition after charging for flash.

The LCD monitor becomes darker or brighter for a moment.

This phenomenon appears when pressing the shutter button halfway to set the aperture value and does not affect the recorded pictures.

This phenomenon also appears when the brightness changes when the camera is zoomed or moved. This is because of operation of the automatic aperture of the camera, and it is not a malfunction.

The LCD monitor flickers indoors.

The LCD monitor may flicker for a few seconds after turning the camera on indoors under fluorescent light. This is not a malfunction.

The LCD monitor is too bright or dark.

• Is the [POWER LCD] or the [HIGH ANGLE] mode activated? (P22)

Black, red, blue and green dots appear on the LCD monitor.

• This is not a malfunction. These pixels do not affect the recorded pictures.

Noise appears on the LCD monitor.

In dark places, noise may appear to maintain the brightness of the LCD monitor. This does not affect the pictures you are recording.

Uneven colors come on the LCD monitor.

• If you press the LCD monitor with excessive force, uneven colors may appear on it.

Flash

Flash is not activated.

Is the flash setting set to Forced OFF [o]?

 Change the flash setting. (P36)

Flash Mode is not available when [BURST] (P58) in [REC] menu has been set.

Flash is not available depending on Scene Mode. (P37)

The flash is activated 2 times.

• The flash is activated twice when Red-eye Reduction (P36) has been set.
