Recording Setup

Switch the picture quality of the motion pictures to record.

The frame rate and the recording method will vary depending on the recording format.

*1 Motion picture recorded in [PH 1080/30p] is converted to 1080/60i.

*2 It will output with 1080/60i when this unit is connected to a TV with a HDMI cable (optional). (Video will be recorded with 1080/24p.)

*3 The image aspect ratio can be changed using [ASPECT]. (l 92)

When the frame rate is 60i, high-definition photography can be performed in the order [PH], [HA], [HE], and [SA].

Smoother motion picture can be recorded with the higher value for the frame rate. [i] and [p] of the frame rate means interlace and progressive respectively.

Interlace (interlacing scanning)

Video signal that divides the effective scanning lines to half and send them alternatively

Progressive (progressive scanning)

High density video signal sending the effective scanning lines simultaneously (It will be higher quality image than the interlace)

It can record with highest quality image in this unit when set to [PS].

Recordable time using the battery (l 14)

This function’s default setting is [PH 1080/60i].

Please refer to page 117 about approximate recordable time.

When the unit is moved a lot or moved quickly, or when a fast-moving subject is recorded (particularly when recording in [HE] mode), mosaic-type noise may appear at playback.
